December 12, 2005Anyone know if you can buy the cab top only for the 53-56 ford f100?
December 15, 2005check this month's issue of Classic Trucks magazine. when I was looking through it, I saw an ad for a company selling 40's and 50's model cabs in sections, like roof, back, firewall, corners, ect. If I can find my copy, I'll see if I can find the ad.
December 15, 2005Just got my issue and saw the same thing. Thanks
December 16, 2005Hey Ed, I heard an importer was working on a steel cab, including a replacement cab top, but did not hear if they are available yet. I placed a call and will let you know what I hear. What company had the ad in CT? Haven't seen the new issue yet.
December 16, 2005Hey guys, I must be blind...or has the cold here in Chicago changed my vision?
I have the latest issue (Feb. '06) here and I can't find anything that talkes about F-100 tops. I would like to find one too because it won't be long before I'll have to have one.
December 17, 2005Although now after actually looking over the ad, I realize these are Chevy parts. sorry.
December 17, 2005Yep, that was what I saw too, but nothing yet for the Fords.
December 17, 2005Steve. I was talking with Dale about this. Looks like a big market out there from what I can tell. Most guys I've spoken too online would be interested. lets pool some money:
December 17, 2005Like Dale said, the tooling for a fill top is rather complex. It would be interesting to get an old trashed cab/roof and see just what it takes to install patch panels. Most of us have rust problems in the same areas and patch pannels are much easier and cheaper to create.
